Recently, a mentee called me in need of some inspiration and advice. I could hear it in her voice. She was soul exhausted from 2020 and anxious about what 2021 would bring. 2020 was traumatic. Full stop. But there were lessons that revealed hidden blessings that can help tee up 2021. Together, we counted them one by one and began goal-setting for the new year.
For me, 2020 lessons and blessings were intertwined. The pandemic forced all of us to take multiple seats down, but it also forced me to make the main thing the main thing. In my personal life, I did something that I hadn’t done in 30 years. I spent six months in Memphis with family – not for family trips, family outings or the holidays, but just day-to-day living. What a blessing it was to spend that time with my 82-year-old mother.
In my business, the pandemic forced me to pivot to a business model that I should have had from the start. I went from inspiring hundreds of women through conferences and events to empowering thousands of women with tools to achieve their highest ambitions through coaching and courses.
